Mathraki resort

Mathraki resort started operating in 1982 with a small unit of 2 apartments. The owners George and Maria Argyros were in New York working in Manhattan restaurants and dinners. When they returned to Corfu they had one thing in mind: to create a job that will keep them there for good.
In 1990, after building 12 more apartments they made a career change. One more mini hotel, a swimming pool and a mill completed a beautiful holiday resort. The addition of a small snackbar/tavern brought them back to their old job: cooking.
The menu includes local and international dishes prepared home-style as they would served for their own family. Speaking of family, Maria created the green areas and gardens around the complex. The sons Nikos and Dimitris also work for the family business.

The name 'Mathraki' comes from a little island North west of Corfu (also showed on the map). It is a small paradise with a population of 80 to 100 people. Mathraki island is where the Argyros family comes from.
